Black, bound in the publisher's orig. blind stamped red cloth binding with gilt tooled spines, contemp. ownership inscription of Charles Pringle to front pastedown of each volume, each illustrated with engraved frontispiece after J. M. W. Turner & engraved half titles, some straining at front hinges, first few leaves of vol III near loose & vol I lacking title page and ffep with frontispiece loose, some damp staining & spotting, extremities bumped, vol II with loss to the head and tail of the spines. Also with five uniformly bound early 19th century editions (lacking fourth vol), comprising 1810 Minstrelsy of the Scottish Border in three volumes, fourth ed., 1806 Sir Tristrem, second edition, and 1810 Marmion, a Tale of Flodden Field, fifth edition. Uniformly bound in contemp. full calf, gilt spines & morocco spine label, extremities bumped, spines somewhat rubbed, contemp. ownership inscription of Ann Borthwick to front pastedown of each vol, internally smart.
