A SECOND WORLD WAR GROUP OF SIX AND IMPERIAL SERVICE MEDAL TO ROBERT BRAY. A Second World War group of six comprising 1939-45 Stars, Africa Star with 8th Army clasp, Italy and France and Germany stars, Defence and War Medals, mounted as worn, all unnamed as issued. And an Elizabeth II Imperial Service Medal named to Robert William Bray, in Royal Mint case of issue. With accompanying paperwork. Robert Bray retired from the Ministry of Defence in 1985 and his Imperial Service Medal was awarded at this time. During his career he seems to have played an important part in the prison camp at Rollestone on Salisbury Plain,a copy of painting of the camp is included with the paperwork. HMP Rollestone was established in 1980-81 as a temporary prison during industrial action taken by prison officers, and again in 1988 when it was used to relieve overcrowding in other prisons.
