RAF Martin Baker MK 3JS Ejector seat taken from Gloster Javelin Jet Fighter Serial Number XJ117. This aircraft was built in 1960 and scrapped in 1974. The seat itself is serial no 364 and is dated 19-11-59. It is in unrestored original condition as it came out of the aircraft. It is complete with all data plates. The drogue parachute is complete in it's pack. There is a canvas head rest with webbing straps. It is marked as "Front XJ117" in two places. The seat has some other components still in place. Levers and knobs move correctly. It is covered in inspection stamps. In addition to the seat there are some other items in this lot to include: an Ejector Gun Tube Type 3 ref 27.L.368 which is marked "XA899 1st Pilot" taken fron Avro Vulcan V Bomber XA899 which as built in 1955 and scrapped in 1967. INERT & FFE: a Air Ministry marked parachute/kit bag: A Martin Baker Patent Horseshoe Pack back type Mk28 dated Nov 1978/Parachute assembly back type Mk44A. This also marked "Binbrook Lightning Feb 85": two small Parachute or Harness straps.
Very good original condition. Not repainted. The seat would require a mount fabricating in order for it to be used as a free standing chair. The vendor had the seat leaning against a wall for display.
