BRITISH WWII PROPAGANDA PARODY - GENERAL VON WITZLEBEN: A British PWE produced parody of the 1943 24pf + 26pf red-brown Hitler putsch stamp. Stamp depicts General Erwin von Witzleben and is inscribed "Gehangt am 8 Aug 1944" (Hanged 8 Aug. 1944). Witzleben was executed for his role in the unsuccessful plot to blow up Hitler. Marginal unmounted mint example.
