Citation (3rd image) states bravery / leadership during an attack and holding a German occupied town with fierce gun and grenade battle which last two hours, they also resisted a German attack on the holding town, which lead to a fierce grenade battle at night.
Major Ronald Walter Boyd was born on 29 January 1914. He was the son of Lt.-Col. Henry Alexander Boyd and Moya Exham. He died on 23 October 1944 at age 30 at Italy, killed in action.
He fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Ulster Rifles. He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1944. 2nd Bn. The London Irish Rifles
