GOVERNMENT AIR SERVICE - THE FIFTH AND FINAL FLIGHT OF THE SEAPLANE "VENUS" - SEVEN COVERS:13 July 1929 (flown 18 July) envs to London (2) Edinburgh (2), Jersey, Singapore & Glasgow flown from Kuching to Singapore, bearing various adhesives with "KUCHING" c.d.s. of 13 July 1929 with a v. fine "KUCHING/AIR MAIL" c.d.s. Note:the "Venus" left Kuching on 14 July but owing to bad weather , had to make for Pontianak where the plane was dismantled and shipped to Singapore. The mail carried reached Singapore on 18 July and is backstamped accordingly. c200 items were carried at the 10c air fee plus 6c postage rate.
