A collection of over 120 early 20th century naval architect and boat builder plans:, the majority signed and dated 'Harold Clayton' and 'Penarth', various vessels including, 'Cabin Plan 130TM Aux Ketch for Peter Hoare Esq Luscombe Castle', 'Sketch for 12 ton Yawl. Designed for Capt. R McNeil', 'Zinita 30 Tons TM', 'Jumbo. 2nd Prize Yachtsman 1898', 'Valkyrie III sail plan', 'Shearwater. Designed for Mr J J Neale', 'Neried', 'Modweina', 'One Design Class. Designed For Club Maritimo del Abra' (Biscay), ' Myosotis, Penarth Dinghy Class', 'Arghiro RYS The Right Hon Lord Churston' and others on drawing paper and wax paper, various sizes. *Notes- As a boat designer and builder Harold Clayton opened a yard on the site near the Charles Cooper boatyard on the shingle beneath Penarth Head, south of the Marine Hotel. As a keen photographer he also took numerous images of various boats and locations whilst attending regattas and other notable events. Many of the photographs are very creative for the period, with images from atop the masts, on deck during races and relaxing as well as topographical. There are numerous images of Henry Clayton and his own craft, in particular 'Crayfish' and 'Coquette'
