An early 19th Century 1821 pattern Light Cavalry sword, the 90cm blade with presentation inscription 'Presented by The Earl of Dudley to Corpl Whitgrove for brilliant swordsmanship 1865', floral decoration and VR cypher, the proofed gilt disc within a star relating to the maker Lambert Brown & Clowes London, pierced hilt and wire fish skin grip.

Provenance - Purchased from Bonhams 2016 lot 67, sale 23565.

NB - Corpl Whitgrove was an officer serving in the Worcestershire Yeomanry Cavalry. The Earl of Dudley purchased this sword from Lambert & Co.
