A Great Western Railway tenderplate, GWR 2439, 4000 GALLONS, SWINDON, from a standard Collett tender, part of Swindon Lot A117 built between November 1928 and January 1930 and used on Kings, Castles, Stars, Halls and Granges. Tenders were exchanged frequently and this tender is recorded later in its career coupled with 4900 Hall Class 4-6-0 No 5951, CLYFFE HALL, built in December 1935. Cast iron, 8¼"x6", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
