£200
A interesting pair of early 20th century Arts and Crafts hallmarked silver mounted and rosewood table candlesticks; the silver mounts with 'flowerhead' outer rim and above short turned bodies, each with a central circular fluted band, the silver probably marked for Francis Higgins (marks rubbed), assayed London 1904 (12cm high and the wooden base 8.5cm diameter). Francis Higgins was one of the leading Silversmiths of the mid-Victorian era, he was apprenticed to George Smith and his work was always of the highest quality.
