GB.QUEEN VICTORIA 1849 1d red plate 89 (SG Spec. BS78), a remarkable BLOCK OF 45, split into a block of 30 "CD-CH/HD/HH" and a block of 15 "AL" plus "BK-BL/HK-HL" (this showing marginal plate number and part inscriptions), unused without gum and with margins all round; They appear to be slightly different shades, but almost certainly belong together as both end on the "H" row. It is likely that these came from one of the London Blitz safety deposit box tragedies, still remarkable survivors and a rare issue in such last blocks.
