James Charles - (British 1851-1906) - Sussex River & Sheep Scene. Watercolour heightened with gouache. Image size 6'' x 9'' (15 cm x 23 cm), framed size 14'' x 17'' (35 cm x 43 cm). Signed with distinctive 'JC' monogram lower left, and dated (18)98. Noted British landscape and genre painter, James Charles moved to Sussex in 1896. Condition: Good, with good colour. Housed in quality gilt frame.
