The ref. 524 is known for its specially designed asymmetrical case that ergonomically allows the wearer to check the time while they are driving. This reference is extremely rare as they were only manufactured for four years, 1936 to 1940 with cases made by Staffelbach and Rotach based in Carouge, Switzerland. This particular watch reveals a rare calibre, the tonneau-shape cal. 9’’’90. Less than a hundred pieces of this reference 524 were made overall, and even lesser with this caliber, and these are rare to find in such well-preserved condition.
