£1,500
A George II ebony and mahogany cased striking bracket clock by Henry Haynes of Daventry - the brass eight day double fusee movement with verge escapement and bob pendulum, striking the hours on a bell, with foliate engraved backplate and mounting brackets, fronted by a 7¾in arched brass dial with signed, silvered Roman chapter ring with Arabic outer five minute track, pierced blued steel hands, gilt brass foliate and C-scroll spandrels, matted centre with chamfered date aperture and arched aperture displaying a faux bob pendulum and Strike/Silent dial to the arch, the moulded ebony veneered case with mahogany panels, bell top with brass swing handle and plinth base, 48.5cm high plus handle, with key.
* The clock appears to be in very original condition and has not been restored. It is in good working order and has been running well in the saleroom. The dial is in good condition. The case is quite dusty and dirty but should clean up very well. There is a smal veneer chip to the lower left corner of the dial door and another piece missing from the left hand side of the arch to the door. Inside the door, there is a small veneer chip to the left hand corner of the arch, some veneer loss and cracks to the left hand edge of the dial mask and a shrinkage crack above the lower door hinge. The glazed movement door is missing the moulding from the lower edge, and is also missing the lock. Overall, a good clock in generally good, unrestored condition.
