A late 19c oak three bottle locking tantalus. The tantalus has silver plated cut mounts and escutcheon, side carry handles and fitted with a wine glass and cigar box enclosed by glazed hinged covers. Inside the box is an interesting newspaper cutting indicating that the box was presented to Sargent Major C S Higgins of the London Irish Rifles. 35cms w x 29cms h.

It is in good order and good quality, but has got not got a markers mark. It is accompanied by an old newspaper cutting indicating that it was a presentation made to Sergeant Major C.S Higgins by members of the NCO Class of the London Irish Rifles.
