AN EAST INDIA COMPANY NAVAL PIPE-BACK SWORD, in a leather scabbard. The blade is etched with the Honourable East India Company device of a lion rampant holding a crown in its paws above a large anchor with foliate and scrollwork detail. The obverse of the blade bears the East India Company Coat of Arms and motto: Auspicio Regis et Senatus Angliae, translating to By command of the King and Parliament of England. The blade needs some restorative work. The hilt is made of brass, the underside of the bowl bears the Lion and anchor, and the folding guard is functioning. Shagreen grip is topped with a lion head pommel. Length in scabbard: 87cm.
