PRUSSIAN SENIOR INFANTRY OFFICER'S 1889 PATTERN SWORD AND SCABBARD. A fine quality sword with an unusually long 90cm pointed single edged blade with double fuller, marked for W. K & Co. The folding guard finely gilt with matt gilt Prussian eagle to both sides of the guard. With a wire bound horn grip with the Kaiser's 'FWR' monogram. The pommel decorated with a further finely detailed Prussian eagle and a stand of arms and standards, the top with previous owner's initials 'EAW'. In black painted scabbard with single ring suspension. 108 cm overall.

A fie example in very nice condition, that it is longer than usual suggests it may have been made for a particularly tall officer.
