The Phantom VI was an ultra-exclusive rolling chassis made from 1968-1990. Based on the Phantom V, the Phantom VI had a re-styled dashboard and was powered by an engine derived from the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Most of the coachwork was created by Mulliner Park Ward, usually in limousines form, though a few landaulettes were made. At least two convertibles were built, one with two doors and the other with four, both by Frua of Italy.

The Phantom VI was the last Rolls-Royce with a separate chassis. It featured coil springs in front, leaf springs and live axle in rear, and drum brakes on all four wheels. The car was powered by a twin SU carburettors 6,230 cc engine, coupled to a 4-speed automatic gearbox. In a 1979 upgrade, engine capacity was increased to 6,750 cc, a 3-speed automatic gearbox with torque converter was substituted, and separate front and rear air conditioning units were provided. Inclusion of the engine from the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit in 1982 increased engine displacement once more, to 6,750 cc. A total of 374 Phantom VIs were made.

1970 Phantom VI in Peacock Blue, 84,000 miles from new, and owned by well known Rolls-Royce Specialist Chris Lee for over 4 years. The car has a beautiful Magnolia Leather interior with Blue Piping re-trimmed 3 years ago to a very high specification, with Dark Blue carpets and over rugs, rear head rests, original decanter and glasses from the factory, upgraded rear stereo, custom fitted to a high specification Bluetooth Sat Nav stereo system, tinted rear windows, new alarm system and central locking fitted, Kenlow fan and electronic ignition to make the Phantom VI a more reliable car. Complementing the Peacock Blue coachwork is a hand painted gold coach line, white wall tyres, removable flag masts. The car has Service History and will be serviced before the auction, and will come with a year’s MOT.
This is one of the best Phantom VI available for sale at present, which has been Regally used on OBE/NBE Ceremony’s, and with it being owned by Chris lee, no expense has been spared on the up-keep. Chris also helped assemble the Phantom at Hythe Road in 1971 during his time with Rolls-Royce, so it holds sentimental value. for him.
