Two similar 19th century horn beakers of conical form: the larger (11.75 cm) mounted with a silver cartouche engraved with an armorial over the motto 'Spero', the silver rim marked for Asprey - 160 Bond St., London assay marks 1875. The slightly smaller (10.75 cm) white-metal-mounted example with its cartouche monogrammed 'PH'.
