Great Britain: Simpson's Lever Chain Limited, £1 shares, 18[96], #2537, brown, stamped DERELICT. Together with Simpson's Lever Chain (Foreign & Canadian) Limited, £1 shares, 189[5], #119, green. This was a cycle boom invention of a newly designed chain link promoted by E. T. Hooley. Name changed to Simpson's Lever Chain and Cycle Company Ltd. in 1896 when cycles were to be manufactured, fitted with new invention. As with most of the Hooley promotions the company failed and was in liquidation by 1899 and the invention passed into history. VF (2).
