Fine Nagum Boiken Ancestral Spirit Figure, Coastal Prince Alexander Mountains, Papua New Guinea. Carved and engraved hardwood and natural pigment. With arms raised beside the face, this 20th.C figure is of the rounder form and has red and white natural ochres highlighting the sculpture. Focus is drawn both to the face and to the belly decorated with white pigments in a serrated pattern around the umbilicus. Approx L66cm. PROVENANCE Ex.
