A smokebox numberplate, 46138, from a LMS Royal Scot Class 7P 4-6-0 No 6138 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 23633 in September 1927 and originally named FURY by April 1928 after an historical locomotive built for the Liverpool & Manchester Railway in 1831. Renamed THE LONDON IRISH RIFLEMAN at a ceremony at Euston on 23 October 1929, it was rebuilt with taper boiler in June 1944 and became BR 46138. Allocated new to Crewe North, it had some thirty shed changes with long stays only at Edge Hill and Carlisle Upperby from where it was withdrawn on 8 February 1963 and cut up at Crewe Works.
