A Paris porcelain ice pail and cover, 19th century, of urn form with geometric strap handles, the body enamelled to each side with extensive floral sprays below a continuous gilt bordered frieze of floral roundels, the cover with matching frieze and gilt rod handle, incised "C" to base, 29cm high
The piece shows rubbing to the gilt highlights throughout, particularly to the edges and corners of the handles. The body shows fine surface wear throughout, a 6cm fine scratch to the foot, and the odd firing pit and frit, including a pit above the foot scratch. One of the handles shows shows a firing crack to the upper terminal. The interior is dirty and would benefit from cleaning.
