World War I leather artillery shell carrier, stamped 'J A H' and with arrow mark, twin carrying handles, height 74cm
The leather is scuffed and scratched particularly around the base. There is a split to the seam at the back from the base approximately 10- 12cm exposing hessian beneath. This seam is pulling away all the way up the carrier.
