± Concorde An Original Concorde Development Mock-up An important and historic full-scale wooden mock-up that once stood in the assembly hall at Filton, where Concorde was built. This development model was transported direct from BAC, Filton, Bristol. This model was important in deciding the final layout of the flightdeck. Input from the airline pilots and the Concorde test crews was crucial to the safe operation of the aircraft. The design philosophy of keeping flight deck procedures as near as possible to those used in a conventional aircraft had a major bearing on the flight deck layout, the complimentary comments received from airline pilots during the flight-testing phase proved that the designers’ aims had been met. Mock-ups of cabin layouts were of particular importance to the sales team, enabling them to show prospective customers the interior layout of the passenger cabin furnishings The "Concorde Experience" a full scale display and promotional model of the front fuselage section of the aircraft, internally fitted with the flight deck and forward passenger cabin seat rows. The manufacturers had this model built to help familiarise potential purchasers with the layout, instrumentation and capabilities of this revolutionary aircraft.
