ECHELON, (BRITISH), M.E.F./Date 6/2 Initials 40" hs at lower left and pencil ms "Deserter/23 12 45"; and 7 May 1942 env. ex Ipswich to "Gnr. J. H. Day" in the Middle East Forces, with purple boxed "IT IS REGRETTED THAT/THIS ITEM COULD NOT BE/DELIVERED BECAUSE THE/ADDRESSEE IS REPORTED/PRISONER OF WAR." over the address. Other examples inc.
