A French Empire style gilt and patinated bronze mounted marble figural mantel clock, after a model by Claude Galle, late 19th century, with Eros standing with his lyre next to the milestone-shaped case mounted with stiff-leaf border and winged Classical female figure holding her arms aloft, on stepped rectangular plinth base with foliate mounts on winged lion paw feet, the white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, indistinctly signed to dial, the twin train movement with outside countwheel striking on a bell, the backplate with cachet stamped HORS CONCOURE BESANCOR 1893 LS. BONAME (DOUBS) SELONCOURT, and numbered 8055 9 2, with pendulum, 61cm high, 42cm wide, 21cm deep
