LATE 19th CENTURY OAK CASED CIRCULAR WALL CLOCK, PROBABLY NOT FOR M.S. J. & R. RAILWAY  having spring driven single fusee movement with anchor escapement, the movement housed between tapered brass plates with plain turned brass columns, the removable back cover with securing pegs and hinged panel access doors to side and bottom, the side applied with a simple brass tablet stamped 17473 and having white enamel Roman dial with cut-out oblong reserve with later enhanced black lettering M.S.J. & A. behind a glazed brass framed hinged bezel with simple securing latch, the moulded circular oak frame 15 1/2" (39.4cm) diameter and the simple brass pendulum with feather suspension (The Manchester, South Junction & Altrincham Railway received Royal Assent 21/7/1845)
