A beautiful Edward Nevil (British, b. 1813 - d. 1901) original watercolour on paper painting titled 'Whitby' and signed E. Nevil bottom right. Featuring a coastal landscape scene with the Cod & Lobster tavern. Housed in a gilt frame behind glass. A C. Webb Framers sticker dated 1937 to verso. Nevil's work can be seen for auction fetching into the hundreds.

Nevil was a late nineteenth century artist of landscapes and continental town scenes. Watercolours and oils depicting townscapes.
