AN 1828 PATTERN KINGS OWN BORDERERS BASKET HILT SWORD AND SCABBARD. With an 83cm pointed blade with partial double fuller, marked to one side for the King's Own Borderers, to the other with crest and battle honours to include Egypt. Marked to the ricasso for E. Thurkle, Maker, Soho London. With basket hilt with pierced heart decoration and scrolling frame, with fish skin covered grip. With steel scabbard with twin ring suspension, 101cm overall. With cross bar to replace basket hilt. *CR lacking a small element at the top of the handle, light patches of rust in small areas on blade.
