A FIRST WORLD WAR PAIR AND MEMORIAL PLAQUE TO THE LONDON REGIMENT. A Great War pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 5456 Pte J.S. Tomkin 17-Lond.R Plaque to John Stanley Tomkin. Rifleman Tomkin was born in Brighton the son of R.H. and E. Tomkin, he served with the 17th (County of London) Battalion (Poplar and Stepney Rifles). He died of wounds on the 30th October 1917 and is buried at Dozingham Military Cemetery, Belgium, he was 32 years old. With Scroll and Buckingham Palace note, both stuck to board, a letter informing his Mother that he was at Canadian Stationery Hospital, Havre, and a letter referring to his grave. *CR Plaque polished, paperwork in mixed condition.
