A side arm in the form of an Imperial German M1871 bayonet, however the hilt is a solid brass casting with no release catch or mortise slot. Single edged blade 48cm in length. No markings. No scabbard.
Possibly an un-finished example made up from spare parts? The blade has rust pitting overall and some edge knocks.
