The picture has been relined at some point in the past. The paint surface shows craquelure and fine surface scratching, but no obvious damage. Examination under UV shows evidence of minor retouching. The frame appears to be structurally sound, but shows slightly open joints at the corners and some cracks and losses to the moulded details.
We believe this piece to be 19th century.
