An Archaic Jade Ornament, Shang/Early Western Zhou dynasty, probably a fish, of long slender form and flattened rectangular section, with waisted tail at one end and double sets of subtly indicated fins,the body softly carved around with corrugated grooving just by the tail and at the waist, and pierced down the centre, probably later, as a long bead or pendant, the softly polished stone of celadon tone with russet suffusions, L:14.5cm.
Fair, but broken at middle and repaired. The large shallow chip restuck on one side is possibly a replacement piece of stone.
