Two Roman earthenware pitchers Circa 2nd century AD The buff pottery of ovoid form with pinched spouts and plain strap handles. 28cm and 20cm high (2) Provenance:The property of Andrew Parker, lead researcher at the Natural History Museum, London. Footnote:This lot is accompanied by a French Certificate of Cultural Objects, dated 30 August 2000. Condition:Larger: Chipping to the rim and spout. Rust coloured surface deposit to one side and around foot rim. Very small hole at the widest point. Surface scratches to the neck. Smaller: Some surface deposits around the spout and rim.
