FRANCIS CALCRAFT TURNER (1795-1846). In Full Cry; and The Kill, signed and dated ‘F.C.Turner’ (lower left), oil on canvas, unframed, 10 x 14 in; a pair (2). Many of the artist’s hunting scenes represent hunts in the south of England including the Essex Hounds, the East Kent and the Old Berkeley, the pack with which he hunted most. In a note to ‘The Sporting Magazine’, he claimed to have had more experience of hunting ‘than any other artist alive’
