CAMP - TRANSPORT OFFICE EXCHANGE CERTIFICATE WITH LARGE WAFER SEAL; Fine 23 Mar. 1810 foolscap sheet with printed "By the Commissioners for conducting HM Transport Service...POWs" heading but also having a spectacular embossed wafer seal (showing red through the white paper); "TRANSPORT OFFICE/[canon + anchor]/SICK & WOUNDED SEAMEN PRISONERS OF WAR" alongside. The certificate of POW Exchange is signed by George, Serle & Harness and authorises the exchange of "M. Nagle, a Captain of the French Land Forces and detained as a POW at Brecon to procure his liberation" as long as he is exchanged for a British POW of similar rank. Rare.
