6th Bn KSLI/181st Field Regt RA 1939-1945, France and Germany Stars, Defence Medal, BWM attributed to Capt David Forsyth Allan Trewby R.A. good very fine, swing mounted as worn. He was born in 1920, commissioned from Cadet 21/3/42, posted to 181st Fd Regt 3/4/02, served as Command Post Office 178 Bty HQ Troop. Post war was Secretary of Hurlingham Club, Company Director and hosted various officer re-unions for the Regiment.
Sold with London City & Guilds boxed prize medal named to David Forsyth Allan Trewby First Prize Paper Manufacture 1949 in envelope of issue with letter of transmission, 1967 Freedom of City of London scroll, 5 glass photo stills of wartime service, medal transmission slip, name plate, cloth sleeve badges for 15th Scottish Division and scarce gold bugle on green background which was only worn by 181st Fd Regt to signify their heritage (Formerly 6th Bn KSLI who converted to RA in 1942). Also with range of wartime photos in uniform, 1967 Worshipful Co of Stationers scroll, book Guns and Bugles about the history of the regiment by Don Neal to which Trewby contributed.
The 181st landed in France 10 days after D-Day and fought through France and Germany until the end of the war. (B)
