Star lot: Michael Healy (Irish b.1873-d.1941). Two original 'Michael Healy (Irish b.1873-d.1941)' watercolor and pencil on paper sketch / paintings. From his famous 'Dubliner' series. Both captures the essence of the characters. Rendered in a wonderful loose brushstrokes.

Healy is a very well known Irish stained glass artist and painter with similar works fetching into thousands at Whyte's.

Michael Healy is remembered primarily for his pioneering work as a stained glass artist with Sarah Purser's An Túr Gloine studio, but he was also an avid painter, by day sketching scenes and people encountered on the streets of Dublin.
