Zulu War. 1879 Cover to Ireland headed "From No. 1669 Corpl A. Cooney 1/13th P.A Lt Infantry" and countersigned by the Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, franked at the solders rate by Transvaal 1878 1d with light cancel, "No19 P.O / NATAL" datestamp of Ladysmith, backstamped at Durban (May 13) and Pietermaritzburg with a Limerick arrival datestamp (June 20). Vertical creases and minor staining but an unusual Zulu War soldiers cover, posted in Natal but with a Transvaal stamp accepted in payment of the 1d rate. Photo on Page 84.
