Crowned king facing in ship holding upright sword and quartered shield, beaded circle surrounding legend reads EDW?RD x DEI x GR? x REX x ?NGL ?x Z x FRAANC x DhYB, single saltire stops. Rev, large closed Lombardic E in centre of a floriated cross with lis terminals, lions and crowns in angles all within a tressure of eight arcs, fleurs in spandrels, legend reads + IhE o AVTEM o TRANCIENS o P o MEDIVM o ILLORVM o IBA, single annulet stops, 7.72gm (S. 1489/1490; N. 1173/1183; Schneider 37). Nearly Extremely Fine, full weight on a good round flan.
