A pair of embroidered Ottoman Turkish shoes, circa 1880s, possibly dance slippers, constructed of pale brown silk with embroidered gold bullion wire, blue-collar linings and a low-heel. Condition:Elements of loss to embroidered and gold bullion wire decoration - particularly to the stitching around the band of one heel of one shoe. Re-soled and heeled in the late 20th century. Collar linings lifting in areas. Some minor wear to velvet.
