British Victorian 1871 Pattern South Salopian Yeomanry Helmet. Helmet Plate with white metal "hobnail" star mounted with an oval strap inscribed with regimental title and enclosing the three Leopards' masks of Shropshire. Complete with black leather liner, black falling horse hair plume in a gilt brass socket. Replacement chin chain.

Chin chain is a modern XX Century replacement which has nylon "invisible" thread holding the rings in place. Size small liner, approx 55 or 56. Body of helmet is good overall. One split to metal approx 30mm in length on right side.
