Two 19th-century miniature portraits on ivory, the first Circle of Thomas Hargreaves (1775-1846), depicting a finely dressed lady beside a window, her hair up, wearing a black gown with silk sleeves, 10 cm x 7.5 cm, glazed in an ebonised frame, Ivory certification reference DHJ2XGMT, the second Circle of John Linnell (1792-1882), featuring a blond lady with pink shawl, 7.5 cm x 5.5 cm, glazed in an ebonised frame with relief floral decoration. Ivory certification reference C6PA43CC. Qty: (2) Black gown: The ivory sheet is slightly concave. It has been laid down to car but is starting to come away along the right and upper edges. There are spots of surface dirt visible. Otherwise in good colour and appears stable.
