Lt Lambton Lee Lorraine Bevan (British, circa 1845 - ?) 'Oh dear, he is drowned', 1858 A naive rendition of a hunting incident, completed when the artist was a boy initialled L.L.L.B. lower left, signed to reverse watercolour and decoupage on paper, ink inscription and description of the scene verso 15 x 19cm. Provenance: Private Collection Bearing BADA label to reverse, inscribed with provenance 'Collection of the Loraine Smith Family' The date on the reverse of this sketch suggests Lambton Lee Lorraine Bevan drew the present picture around the age of thirteen. A descendant of the Loraine Baronets of Kirkharle Hall, Northumberland, Lambton Lee Loraine Bevan entered the Royal Navy in 1879, achieving the rank of Lieutenant.
