FOLLOWER OF EVA GONZALÈS (French, 1849-1885) - Portrait of a lady holding a book, seated in profile (Possibly a portrait of Eva Gonzalès, pastel mounted on canvas, unsigned with brass plaque engraved 'Eva Gonzalès 1850-1883' below, behind glass in 19th century gilt frame with moulded floral details, 76 x 62 cm (excluding frame), frame size: 79 x 92 cm. Provenance: Purchased by the vendor's fathers in Rome circa 1988, by repute the proceeds were then given as a donation to the Pasteur Institute of Paris.
The artwork in good overall condition. The frame needing attention with small losses in places to plaster.
