EARLY NINETEENTH CENTURY INLAID OAK AND MAHOGANY CROSSBANDED LONGCASE CLOCK SIGNED G PAYNE, LUDLOW, the 12” painted Roman dial with floral centre and spandrels, powered by a 30 hour movement, striking on a bell, and housed in a case with gilt metal mounted swan neck pediment and free standing turned columns to the fore corners, set above a trunk door with diamond shaped inlay, depicting an exotic bird perched on leafy foliage, flanked by brass capped and fluted quarter columns to the fore corners, and raised on a conforming base with bracket feet, 80 ½” (204.5cm) high
