Framed and glazed
The picture is framed under glass and has not been removed for inspection. The paint surface shows some foxing, most noticeably in the paler sky of the top right corner. The colours appear reasonably strong and clean, but are likely to have faded somewhat over time. The mount shows some dirt and marking under the glass. The tape seal of the backing board has been split open for a length of 9cm at the top of the frame. The frame shows open joints at each corner and some small losses to the moulding. The gilt finish is worn throughout.
