A group of five medals, awarded to 9703 L Cpl W A Marshall R Berks R, comprising a Military Medal, 1914 Star, with bar, Trio and a QEII Imperial Service Medal, with a shell case bottom section, engraved with the Royal Engineers, dated 1916, a USA dollar, 1921, and a commemorative 50p, 1994, with copy of research London Gazette 11/11/1916, reading standard report 27/12/1917, L/Cpl W Marshall was awarded the MM for unearthing a machine gun, which had been buried during an intense bombardment, and bringing it into action again, whilst under shell fire
