Five 19th century purses and bags: the first, a miniature miser’s purse, quite tiny, perhaps for a doll (?), coffee colour embroidered with gold beads, with gold embossed metal rings and shaped bobbles to each end, approx. 9 cm long; together with a salmon crochet bag , incorporating cut steel beads, each side worked with a central paisley boteh and floral border, draw thread, and ornate cut steel tassel; a beige purse in “en Diable” format, with gold metal bars; a small framed bag, worked in vertical bands, applied with steel beads and edged with gold metal fringing, unlined; and a slightly larger crochet bag with draw cord, worked in horizontal bands of beige and dark green, the beige bands designed with chevrons in cut steel beads (5)
